How to apply

Complete UW-Eau Claire's graduate application to apply for the majority of programs. Applicants for the Communication Sciences & Disorders programs will not need to complete this application. Please see your program details below for application process information.

Non-degree-seeking graduate students

Taking graduate courses without seeking a degree

If you would like to take graduate coursework for personal or professional development but are NOT seeking a degree, you are considered a graduate non-degree student. You still need to have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution. View more information about courses and registration information here.

  • Term available: Spring, summer, fall
  • Application dates:
    • Spring: The application opens April 1 with a deadline of January 15.
    • Summer: The application opens on September 1, with a deadline of May 15.
    • Fall: The application opens on September 1, with a deadline of August 31.
  • Materials needed when submitting your application:
    • Application fee
    • Unofficial transcripts from the institution(s) where you earned your bachelor's degree(s) and any other advanced degrees

International graduate students

Additional materials required for international graduate students

In addition to the application materials listed for each program above, the following materials are also required:

  • Evidence of English proficiency. A TOEFL score of 76 iBT, an IELTS score of 6.0, or a Duolingo score of 115 - see approved scores and ESL programs
  • If admitted to a graduate program, a completed financial verification form and a copy of your passport will be required before immigration documents will be issued.

Official College Transcripts

Prior to enrollment, admitted students are required to send final official transcripts from the institution(s) where they earned their bachelor's degree(s) and any other advanced degrees. 

All transcripts must be sent by the institution through a secured electronic delivery service (Parchment, National Student Clearinghouse, etc.) or by US Postal mail to the address below. Emails and faxes are not official documents.
